Responsible for performing complex accounting tasks for Custom Health. Duties include assuming a role to guide accounting personnel in daily tasks, reviewing financial data to make forecasting decisions, and communicating with the Sr. Manager and Executives about financial strategies.
Other responsibilities include managing the accounting operations of the company's accounting department, reconciling accounts, and finalizing financial reports to discuss with the management.
The Senior Staff Accountant also resolves account discrepancies, analyzes the company's financial status, and verifies financial transactions.
The Staff Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation.
Senior Staff Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or finance with an accounting minor) required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a staff or senior accountant, preferably in a multi-company setting.
- 2+ years of demonstrated success in leading an accounting team are required.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems required
- Extensive knowledge of payroll processing and accounting via third-party processors is required.
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll processes is desirable.
- Extensive experience in the period-end closing process.
- Ability to manage and own the accounts receivable process across multiple entities.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Professional integrity, including the ability to work with confidential information.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
