What you’ll do!
Staff Accountant Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations with supporting documentation.
- Maintain accounting databases by recording data into the accounting\AP processing system with completed documentation.
- Assist in the completion of monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes including performing closing entries and supporting working papers.
- Provide assistance with ad hoc projects and reports.
- Provide assistance with the annual audit.
- Document all transactions with sufficient support for future audits
- Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks needed.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Strong understanding of IFRS and core accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role required.
- CPA designation complete or in progress is considered an asset.
