Part Production Operator
Description

Position Overview

Part Production Operators set-up, operate, load, and maintain machinery. They are responsible for ensuring the machine produces high quality products, runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained.


Primary Functions and Responsibilities

  • Inventory control of parts and material
  • Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications (assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment)
  • Produces the required quantity of parts within the specifications and tolerances
  • Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance of function, quality, and cosmetic specifications 
  • Maintains logs and records of units produced including records of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces
  • Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment, performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance
  • Assist with improvements of procedures
  • Follow 5S housekeeping standards 
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment
  • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations
  • The ability to read and understand customer drawings.
  • Fork truck operations


Minimum Qualifications

  • Basic match skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
  • Strong analytic problem solving skills


Work Environment

  • Warehouse environment (non-temperature-controlled environment)
  • Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs on a regular basis
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours
