Position: Clinical Intern (Child & Family Therapist or Adult Clinician)
Duration: Academic Year 2026-2027 (20-24 hours/week)
Type: Unpaid Internship (Academic Credit Required)

What You’ll Do

  • Provide Direct Care: Conduct individual and family clinical biopsychosocial assessments, tailoring evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care) to client needs.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Participate in treatment team meetings alongside licensed professionals, including LCMHCs, LICSWs, LMFTs, MDs, and APRNs.
  • Case Management & Advocacy: Assist clients in navigating community resources and accessing necessary services.
  • Clinical Documentation: Gain proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation in accordance with state and clinical standards.
Requirements

  

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Master’s program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy (second-year students preferred).
  • Strong commitment to gain experience in a community mental health center and a desire to serve those with severe mental illness.
  • A passion for working with children/families or adults (program-dependent).
  • Ability to work in-person (limited evening hours may be required).
  • Requirements: Background check, reference check and liability insurance (either covered by the school program or your own policy).
