GGLO is seeking an Interior Designer to join their firm. This position effectively translates design concepts into coordinated, buildable projects and supports technical execution from schematic design to construction documentation. You will collaborate with project teams and leadership to develop interior design concepts and carry them through design development, construction documentation, and construction phase activities. The role requires coordination of various project aspects including developing drawings, graphic design packages, models, material selections, and documentation that support design intent and project goals.
POSITION DETAILS
Key Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to the following:
Design & Documentation
- Support the development of interior design concepts and produce coordinated drawings, models, and documentation across all project phases.
- Prepare design deliverables that align with design intent, project scope, and established standards.
Project Coordination
- Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, fabricators, product vendors, contractors, and clients to support project delivery and maintain design intent throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate interior design elements to support seamless integration with architectural and engineering systems.
Technical Development & Detailing
- Assist in the development of interior design details and construction documentation with guidance from project leadership.
- Implement markups and revisions accurately across interior packages.
Research & Compliance
- Research finish systems, materials, fixtures, furniture, and product selections to support design decisions.
- Conduct code, accessibility, and regulatory research to support compliance and inform interior design solutions.
Client & Construction Support
- Participate in client meetings and presentations.
- Support construction phase activities under the guidance of project leadership, including site visits, review of submittals, responses to RFIs, and documentation coordination.
Quality & Team Contribution
- Review models, drawings, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and coordination; check own work thoroughly.
- Support team workflows by updating task lists, completing assignments, and contributing to overall project progress.
Initiative & Growth
- Demonstrate ownership of assigned work.
- Serve as Interior Designer on small projects with oversight from project leadership.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- NCIDQ certification, or active progress toward certification, preferred.
- 3-7 years of professional experience in commercial interior design or interior architecture.
- Experience supporting design, coordination, and documentation across multiple project phases.
- Experience with hospitality, food and beverage, multifamily, and/or mixed-use commercial projects preferred.
- Occasional travel to project sites may be required, including walking active construction sites and navigating varying terrain.
