Description

The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes while actively leading and supporting production personnel. This role plays a key part in product launches, process development, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost targets are achieved.


Responsibilities


Production Support & Floor Leadership

  • Monitor and maintain manufacturing processes using statistical techniques and process expertise to ensure stability and control.
  • Actively support, train, and lead production floor personnel.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for daily production issues.
  • Train operators on in-process checks and documentation.
  • Promote root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in preventive maintenance initiatives.
  • Lead investigations and corrective actions for nonconformance. 

Process Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain and improve machine setup parameter databases.
  • Develop optimized setups for new and existing products.
  • Lead initiatives for scrap, cost, and variation reduction.
  • Design and implement process trials.
  • Support process capability monitoring.

Product Launch & Engineering Support

  • Support product launch activities with Product Engineering.
  • Create and refine setups for launch orders.
  • Monitor launch activity across operations.
  • Provide structured feedback and optimize processes.
  • Support scale-up and complete handover documentation.

Work Instructions & Documentation

  • Create and maintain Process Work Instructions (PWIs).
  • Ensure documentation accuracy and standardization.

Product Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform data collection and analysis.
  • Execute capability studies and evaluations using statistical tools.
  • Track and report launch metrics.

Pre-Production & Quality Support

  • Support pre-production orders.
  • Coordinate testing with labs.
  • Participate in GP12 containment.
  • Collaborate on customer issues and corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical).
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with production teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Knowledge of SPC and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with JMP or Minitab preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
