Job Title: Lube Technician / Shop Hand

Salary Range: $26-28.00/Hour (non-exempt role)

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lube Technician / Shop Hand to support daily maintenance and shop operations. This role focuses on performing routine lubrication and preventive maintenance services, assisting technicians, and helping maintain an organized, safe shop environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, and possesses their own basic hand tools.

Key Responsibilities

Lube & Preventive Maintenance

• Perform oil changes, lubrication services, and fluid checks on light-duty, medium-duty, and/or 

heavy-duty equipment

• Inspect belts, hoses, filters, tires, and basic components for wear or damage

• Replace filters (oil, fuel, air) and top off fluids as needed

• Accurately complete service documentation and maintenance checklists

Shop Support

• Assist technicians with vehicle positioning, parts handling, and general repairs

• Maintain shop cleanliness and organization

• Dispose of used oil, filters, and materials according to environmental and safety regulations

• Perform basic shop upkeep tasks as assigned

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines

• Properly use PPE and shop equipment

• Report unsafe conditions, damaged tools, or equipment issues promptly

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)

• Previous experience as a lube tech, shop hand, automotive service assistant, or similar role

• Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle components

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced shop environment

• Must own and maintain a set of basic hand tools appropriate for lube and light maintenance work

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record


Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fleet vehicles, diesel equipment, or heavy trucks

• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs

• Vocational or technical training in automotive or diesel service

Tools Requirement

• Employee must provide their own basic hand tools (e.g., wrenches, sockets, ratchets, screwdrivers)

• Specialty tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop-owned tools will be provided by the company

Working Conditions

• Shop and outdoor work environments

• Exposure to noise, grease, oils, and cleaning chemicals

• May require standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting throughout shift
