Job Summary:
The Pilot in Command is primarily responsible for the overall conduct and coordination of the
flight and assigned personnel. This must be accomplished with overall mission safety as the
dominant concern. The Pilot in Command is directly responsible to the Chief Pilot. The duties and responsibilities of the pilot in command include but are not limited to:
- Has full control, authority, and responsibility in the operations of the aircraft.
- Is responsible for the safety of the crewmembers, cargo, passengers, and aircraft.
- Ground and In-flight Security Coordinator.
- Supervise and direct all crewmembers in their duties pertaining to the operation of a flight and may delegate other duties to a crewmember even though it might not be that person's specific duty.
- Any time during which they are performing the functions of the pilot not flying, will assume the duties of the pilot not flying in addition to monitoring the duties being performed by the pilot flying.
- During air ambulance flights they will interface, prior to and during the flight, with medical crew as to the patient's needs (cabin altitude, cabin temperature, rapid acceleration, etc.) which they may have control of. This will include determining whether patients/passengers require restrain before takeoff (hysterical patients, combative passengers, etc.).
- Will be responsible for assuring that the required visual pre-takeoff contamination check is performed by a qualified crewmember with five minutes prior to beginning takeoff any time conditions are such that frost, ice, or snow may reasonably be expected to adhere to the airplane.
- They will ensure the flight is NOT commenced unless sufficient fuel is on-board the aircraft to complete the planned flight safely.
- Accountable for all safety and quality and ensures compliance to the Safety Management System.
Education Requirements:
- Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Aviation Related College Degree preferred
Qualifications, Certificates, Licenses & Document Requirements:
- A valid unrestricted driver’s license
- A valid unrestricted US passport
- First Class Medical
- FAA Commercial Pilot License with an Instrument Rating
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
Experience & Skills:
- 2,000+ hours total time
- 1,000+ Multi-engine time
- PIC Typed in LR-JET/LR-45 preferred
Work Environment & Culture Skills:
- Basic MS Office knowledge, computer software & internet proficiency
- Candidate must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background check

Physical Requirements:

- Employees are regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear to operate aircraft, computer, and telephone keyboard
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and willing to help load and unload aircraft as necessary
Location Requirements:
- Operation based in Ypsilanti, MI at Willow Run Airport (YIP) - 2 weeks on 2 weeks off rotation
- There is no ability to work from home or Home Base
- There will be no relocation package for this position
Shift Requirements:
- Two weeks on, two weeks off with a rotating yearly schedule
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
- Must be available full-time and for assigned shifts; including nights, weekends and holidays
