The Sea Bulk Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all sea bulk operations, including liner installation, railcar sampling and hook up, loading, cleaning, scaling, documentation accuracy, and adherence to schedules. This role provides direct supervision to Sea Bulk Operators and Sea Bulk Liners and ensures safe, efficient, and compliant execution of daily operations.
The Sea Bulk Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager and serves as the primary point of coordination for sea bulk activity.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Supervise daily Sea Bulk operations, including liner installation and loading activities.
- Assign work, set priorities, and provide the daily line-up and loading schedule.
- Ensure all Sea Bulk Operators and Liners follow established safety, quality, and work instructions.
- Verify correct product, equipment, containers, and processes are being used.
- Oversee scale accuracy and ensure calibrations are current.
- Ensure paperwork, scan gun transactions, and system entries are completed accurately.
- Review and address loading issues, delays, quality concerns, or safety incidents.
- Coordinate with Operations Manager, Dispatch, planning team Rail Coordinator, Maintenance and Customer Service as needed.
- Monitor housekeeping and environmental compliance in Sea Bulk areas.
- Train, coach, and develop Sea Bulk Operators and Liners.
- Monitor productivity, staffing levels, and operational performance.
- Escalate operational, staffing, or equipment issues to the Operations Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months Sea Bulk loading experience.
- Prior lead or supervisory experience (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Sea Bulk loading processes and resin handling.
- Safety-focused with strong quality control skills.
- Effective communicator and team leader.
