Description

 Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and service-oriented J-1 Intern/Trainee to join our Rooms Division team. This program offers hands-on experience across key guest-facing departments, including Front Office, Guest Services, and Communications. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, culturally curious, and passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.

Program Structure (Rotational):
Participants will rotate through the following areas:

  • Front Office: Guest check-in/check-out, reservations support, cash handling, and problem resolution 
  • Guest Services: Concierge assistance, guest relations, amenity coordination, and service recovery 
  • Communications: PBX operations, call handling, guest request coordination, and internal communication flow 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide warm, professional, and personalized service to all guests 
  • Learn and follow brand and property service standards 
  • Assist with daily operations in each assigned department 
  • Handle guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and effectively 
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with team members and leadership 
  • Support operational needs, including peak business periods, weekends, and holidays 
  • Demonstrate adaptability while rotating between departments 

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Rooms Division operations 
  • Build strong guest service and communication skills 
  • Gain exposure to hospitality systems and service standards 
  • Strengthen problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities 
  • Understand cross-department collaboration within a hotel environment 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Hospitality, Tourism, or related program 
  • Eligible for a J-1 Visa (Intern or Trainee category) 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Professional appearance and demeanor 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment 
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays 
  • Previous hospitality experience is a plus, but not required
