Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation while ensuring daily activities meet customer commitments and profitability goals. This role oversees field operations and staff coordination, reporting directly to the Trucking District Manager. 

Requirements

Critical Requirement: DOT & Heavy Haul Technical Expertise 

Permitting: Manage and secure all necessary permits for heavy and oversized loads. 

Weight Calculations: Calculate bridge laws and weight distribution for various equipment setups to ensure all loads are legal and safe. 

Regulatory Compliance: Maintain absolute compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. 

Inspection Enforcement: Rigorously enforce pre- and post-trip inspection protocols. 

Safety & Audits: Collaborate with safety teams on audits, safety alerts, and PPE requirements. 

Financial Literacy & Operational Efficiency

Financial Communication: Possess the ability to understand and interpret P&L data as presented by management to ensure operational alignment with company goals. 

Budget Execution: Implement operational changes based on financial reporting to keep expenditures within approved limits. Profitability Support: Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements to support annual profitability targets. 

Core Responsibilities 

Daily Supervision: Manage dispatch, driver scheduling, and efficient routing to ensure timely departures. 

Team Leadership: Support employee performance, conduct training, evaluations, and ride-alongs. 

Administrative Oversight: Ensure completion and submission of BOLs and field tickets within 24 hours. 

Strategic Operational Support: Serve as a qualified relief driver for short-haul runs as a last resort to ensure 100% customer fulfillment. 

Field Presence: Perform daily facility walk-throughs and conduct site visits to maintain operational readiness. 

Experience & Qualifications

 Industry Experience: 5+ years of trucking or oilfield experience. 

Specialized Knowledge: Proven background in oilfield transport, including water, winch, crude, and flatbed services. 

Technical Systems: 3+ years of experience with asset management systems and intermediate proficiency in MS Office. 

Licensing: Class A CDL required with a clean driving record. 

Work Conditions 

Environment: Mix of office and field work with exposure to weather, noise, and industrial equipment. 

Availability: Provide dispatch relief, including potential 24/7 coverage and 25%+ local travel.  

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. 


Salary Description
$110,000.00-$120,000.00
