We’re hiring a Senior Cost Accountant to oversee accounting functions, analyze manufacturing costs, and support financial decision-making.—and turn manufacturing data into clear insights that shape business decisions. You’ll partner day-to-day with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leadership to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis in a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

Cost Accounting & Inventory Management

  • Maintain and improve standard costing systems, including annual cost roll processes 
  • Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances and provide actionable insights 
  • Monitor inventory valuation, reserves, and obsolescence 
  • Reconcile inventory subledger to general ledger and investigate discrepancies 
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation across products, departments, and production lines 

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting reports 
  • Perform gross margin analysis by product, customer, and channel 
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including standard cost updates 
  • Provide detailed cost analysis to support pricing and profitability initiatives 
  • Support month-end close and initiatives to improve close timelines

Manufacturing & Operations Support

  • Partner with plant leadership to track production performance and efficiency metrics 
  • Analyze production yields, scrap, and labor utilization 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction efforts 
  • Assist with capital expenditure analysis and ROI modeling 

Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain internal controls over inventory and cost accounting processes 
  • Support internal and external audits  
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies 

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Drive improvements in ERP systems and cost accounting processes 
  • Develop and enhance reporting tools, dashboards, and KPIs 
  • Support system implementations or upgrades related to costing and inventory 
Requirements

  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4–8+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, CPG experience      a plus
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting      
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) 
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with data tools (Power BI, Tableau)      preferred 
  • CPA designation desirable but not required

Salary range: $90,000 to $110,000 annually
