Who We Are:
The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries about where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
Where You’ll Work:
The Enterprise Project Management Office (ePMO) supports cross-functional initiatives across the Atlanta Community Food Bank, partnering with departments such as Operations, Finance, and Partner Relations to ensure projects are aligned, well-governed, and successfully delivered. The ePMO drives consistency in project execution, improves organizational efficiency, and enables strategic initiatives that directly support the Food Bank’s mission.
About the Role:
The ePMO Intern role was created to support the growing portfolio of enterprise-wide projects and enhance the organization’s ability to deliver high-impact initiatives. As the Food Bank continues to expand its systems, data, and operational capabilities, this role provides critical support in project coordination, documentation, and reporting. The intern will gain exposure to enterprise systems, project governance frameworks, and cross-functional collaboration. This position is designed to both support day-to-day project operations and develop foundational project management skills. The intern will play a key role in ensuring project artifacts, timelines, and communications remain accurate and up to date.
What You’ll Do:
Project Coordination & Support:
- Assist in maintaining project plans, timelines, and work breakdown structures (WBS)
- Support status tracking, reporting, and documentation for active projects
- Coordinate meetings, capture notes, and track action items
- Help ensure project deliverables are organized and accessible in SharePoint
- Assist with UAT coordination, including tracking test cases and results
Process Improvement & Reporting:
- Support the development and refinement of ePMO templates, tools, and processes
- Assist in building reports and dashboards to track project performance and metrics
- Help analyze project data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Contribute to documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Cross-Functional Engagement:
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather project updates
- Support communication efforts to ensure alignment across teams
- Assist with intake processes for new project requests
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement discussions
