Position Summary

The Landscape Install Foreman is responsible for executing and leading high-quality landscape construction projects in alignment with New Garden’s standards, safety protocols, and company values. This role ensures that all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to specification while maintaining a positive team culture and representing the company with professionalism on every jobsite.

Key Responsibilities

1. Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Safely operate loaders, skid steers, excavators, and compactors (gas/diesel).

  • Perform basic maintenance and fueling procedures on all assigned equipment.

  • Maintain organized and clean trucks/trailers; secure materials and equipment properly for transport.

  • Comply with vehicle and weight regulations; maintain valid driver’s license (minimum Class C).

  • Use laser levels and grading tools for accurate installation.

2. Project Layout & Execution

  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and layouts for construction jobs.

  • Accurately transfer scaled drawings to the field and establish grades, elevations, and compound slopes.

  • Plan and execute daily tasks to meet production goals and quality standards.

  • Ensure all installations are built per specifications and company SOPs.

  • Manage project timelines and budgets; complete work within estimated hours and costs.

  • Communicate effectively with Production Managers, Designers, and clients to ensure project intent is met.

3. Softscape & Hardscape Installation

  • Prepare and install turf, sod, mulch, planting beds, and trees/shrubs according to design.

  • Understand plant material handling, spacing, watering, and post-installation care.

  • Perform base preparation, compaction, and installation for hardscape features including patios, walkways, retaining walls, boulders, and natural stone.

  • Install and repair basic irrigation and lighting systems.

  • Ensure all materials meet company standards and are installed per manufacturer and company specifications.

4. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead a crew of 2–5 team members with clear communication, delegation, and accountability.

  • Maintain high morale and culture within the crew, fostering teamwork and engagement.

  • Train and mentor team members in safe practices, company standards, and efficient methods.

  • Conduct onboarding and performance reviews as needed.

  • Encourage crew growth through hands-on instruction and coaching.

5. Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and enforce company and OSHA safety policies on all jobsites.

  • Ensure all crew members use required PPE and follow safe work procedures.

  • Complete required Greenius and in-house safety training annually.

  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment; immediately report hazards or incidents.

  • Maintain Basic First Aid/CPR knowledge and certifications as required.

6. Client Relations & Communication

  • Represent the company professionally with all clients, vendors, and the public.

  • Maintain positive client relationships and communicate project progress or concerns promptly.

  • Ensure work quality meets client expectations and reflects New Garden standards.

  • Provide feedback and updates to supervisors through Aspire timekeeping and job reports.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in landscape construction (5+ years preferred).

  • Valid Class C driver’s license.

  • Proficient in operating heavy and small equipment safely.

  • Proven ability to read and interpret landscape designs.

  • Leadership experience managing crews of 2–5 employees.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Certified or trained in chainsaw, skid steer, and equipment operation preferred.

  • Completion of required safety courses and annual in-house training.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Capable of standing, bending, kneeling, and operating equipment for extended periods.

  • Physically fit for the demands of landscape installation work.
