Position Summary
The Line Service Technician Supervisor provides hands-on leadership while actively performing line service duties. This role oversees daily ramp and fueling operations, ensures compliance with safety, service, and fuel quality standards, and supports the training, scheduling, and performance of Line Service Technicians. The Supervisor serves as a key point of contact during assigned shifts and helps maintain a safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform all Line Service Technician duties, including aircraft marshaling, towing, fueling/defueling, and ground support
- Lead daily ramp and line service operations to ensure safe and efficient aircraft handling
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to Line Services Technicians
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures, fuel quality standards, and company policies
- Assist management with scheduling, shift coverage, and workload coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational issues during assigned shifts
- Conduct routine quality control inspections of refueler vehicles and ramp equipment
- Support incident reporting and participate in safety meetings, audits, and investigations
- Maintain accurate fueling, operational, and safety-related records
- Deliver excellent customer service to flight crews and passengers
- Maintain facility cleanliness and grounds, including building upkeep, lawn care, and snow removal as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership ability in a fast-paced operational environment
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Experience
- Minimum of 1–3 years of line service, aviation ground handling, or related operational experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory or lead experience
- Experience with fuel quality control programs and Safety Management Systems (SMS)
- Familiarity with FAA, OSHA, and airport safety standards
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel (up to 15%) may be required to support training and operations at other locations.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including possible inclement weather conditions
- Exposure to aircraft noise, fuel, and ramp activity
- Ability to lift, carry, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to lift, carry, and move baggage or equipment as required
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb a ladder, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
