Cold Forming Press Operator/Setup Technician

Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining cold forming (multi-hit) machines to produce high-quality parts efficiently and safely. This position plays a key role in ensuring production runs smoothly while meeting quality and productivity standards.


Duties

  • Setup and troubleshoot cold forming multi-slide machines for production runs 
  • Setup and trouble shoot inertia and hydraulic vertical presses. 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and specifications 
  • Perform tooling changes, adjustments, and machine calibrations 
  • Run and monitor production to ensure parts meet quality standards 
  • Inspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) 
  • Identify and resolve mechanical or production issues quickly 
  • Work closely with operators and supervisors to optimize performance 
  • Perform routine maintenance and ensure machines are in safe working condition 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area


Requirements

Requirements, Education, Skills

  • Prior experience setting up cold forming or multi-hit machines required. (Waterbury brand is a plus) 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills 
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments 
  • Knowledge of tooling, dies, and machine adjustments 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality 
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training a plus) 
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices
