Description

Summary: Seeks out and fosters relationships with donors and potential donors in a specific territory for the purpose of securing donations to the various programs of the university. This is primarily done by traveling to meet with individuals in various settings and by performing the following duties. This position will not be based on campus at FHU. This position will be home based working remotely, primarily in Texas and Oklahoma but could include travel to other states.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Travel extensively to meet with donors and potential donors in a specific assigned territory to request gifts and pledges for gifts to the annual, capital and endowment funds.

Maintain telephone and/or written contact with donors and potential donors when travel is not needed or practical.

Maintain records of all contacts with donors or potential donors in the Slate donor database.

Work with the Associate Vice President for University Advancement to plan and set goals for each academic year and be responsible for reaching those goals.

Conduct research and network to find new donors and to evaluate giving potential of donors and potential donors.

Be present for and assist with all major events hosted by University Advancement.

Inform potential contributors of special needs of institution, and encourages individuals, corporations, and foundations to establish or contribute to special funds through endowments, trusts, donations of gifts-in-kind, or bequests, conferring with attorneys to establish methods of transferring funds to benefit both donors and institution.

Research public and private grant agencies and foundations to identify potential sources of funding for research, community service, or other projects.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for University Advancement.

Requirements

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience  

Undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills  

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


Mathematical Skills  

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Reasoning Ability  

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions 

furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Skills  

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

The employee is also required to stand and walk while visiting with constituents in the office and on campus.
