Overview
The Foresight team is growing, and we're looking for two experienced Estimators to help us quote contract-manufactured products for the semiconductor industry. If you enjoy solving complex manufacturing puzzles, thinking through every step of a process, and working closely with a cross-functional team — we'd love to hear from you.
This role is ideal for someone who is familiar with a variety of manufacturing methods (machining, plastic fabrication, welding, and assembly) and has a sharp eye for cost, quality, and lead time.
- Review incoming quote requests and deliver accurate, timely quotations.
- Develop cost-effective process plans, including setup time, run time, and expected yield.
- Establish machining, welding, and assembly process plans that align with our facility's capabilities.
- Determine required materials and select vendors for raw materials and OEM parts.
- Issue quote requests to suppliers for materials, processes, and services, and negotiate competitive pricing.
- Set appropriate lead times based on customer requirements and company guidelines.
- Participate in weekly NPI (New Product Introduction) meetings with our cross-functional team.
- Analyze expected profitability on quotes and review actual profitability on completed jobs.
- Ensure all quotes comply with customer and industry specifications.
What We're Looking For
Required Experience
- 3+ years of experience quoting machined products.
- Experience producing quotes for a CNC machine shop or plastic fabricator.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
- Proven ability to interpret customer drawings and specifications.
- Hands-on experience with process planning (travelers/MOTs).
Technical Skills
- SolidWorks (CAD) proficiency.
- MRP/ERP systems — JobBOSS experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of plastics and how they behave during machining, fabrication, and welding.
- Experience in estimating components across a range of materials: plastics, common metals, and specialty metals.
Nice to Have
- Mastercam (CAM) experience for machining/programming.
- 3+ years in a plastic welding and fabrication environment.
- Experience negotiating supplier pricing.
- Crossover experience quoting for aerospace or other regulated industries.
