Job Summary


The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, performance, and efficiency of the clinical department. This role provides leadership, support, and guidance to clinical staff while ensuring exceptional patient care, regulatory compliance, operational effectiveness, and adherence to organizational standards. The Clinical Supervisor serves as a liaison between providers, staff, patients, and external partners to ensure seamless clinical operations.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Staff Management

  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and support clinical staff. 
  • Assist with employee scheduling, staffing coverage, and workflow management. 
  • Coordinate orientation, onboarding, and training of new clinical employees. 
  • Conduct ongoing staff development and performance coaching. 
  • Foster employee engagement and encourage staff feedback and suggestions. 
  • Monitor staff attendance, productivity, and adherence to policies and procedures. 

Clinical Operations

  • Oversee daily clinical workflow and ensure efficient patient flow. 
  • Monitor provider schedules and coordinate room assignments. 
  • Communicate patient concerns and pertinent clinical information to providers. 
  • Ensure patient safety and quality care standards are maintained. 
  • Address and resolve patient complaints and service concerns. 
  • Coordinate urine drug screening, risk assessments, and laboratory communication. 
  • Assist with pain pump patient coordination and specialty treatment programs. 

Administrative & Compliance

  • Maintain clinical licenses, certifications, and expiration tracking for staff. 
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, OSHA, HIPAA, and accreditation requirements. 
  • Assist with MIPS reporting and quality initiatives. 
  • Oversee monthly reporting and departmental record maintenance. 
  • Manage disability, FMLA, and other clinical documentation processes. 
  • Ensure proper prescription management, retention, and destruction procedures. 

Inventory & Supply Management

  • Monitor clinical supplies, medication inventory, and Botox inventory. 
  • Ensure equipment and instruments remain operational and properly maintained. 
  • Coordinate ordering and replenishment of clinical supplies. 
  • Monitor refrigerator temperatures and medication storage compliance. 

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as a liaison between providers, front office staff, laboratories, vendors, and outside representatives. 
  • Communicate scheduling conflicts, patient flow concerns, and operational updates. 
  • Support organizational goals while promoting exceptional customer service. 
  • Participate in meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements


Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program required. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience in a medical practice. 
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. 
  • Experience with pain management or specialty practice preferred. 
  • NextGen EHR experience preferred. 

Licenses & Certifications

  • Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required. 
  • Active BLS/AED certification required. 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR systems. 
  • Strong customer service and patient relations skills. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday. 
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Salary Description
$26 - $28 / hour
