Marketing Intern

NATURE OF WORK: 

Performs varied work to help support the marketing team, with a strong focus on live event planning and execution.  This internship provides hands-on experience in event marketing, brand promotion and audience engagement.  This position will start in May and last through the end of August. 


SUPERVISION: 

Work is performed under supervision of Marketing Coordinators and Marketing Managers. 


PRIMARY DUTIES: 

  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of live events, trade shows, conferences, concerts, festivals, and promotional activations. 
  • Support pre-event marketing efforts, including email campaign concepts, social media promotion, grassroots outreach, and the creation and distribution of event collateral.   
  • Serve as an on-site representative of the District at community events by setting up, staffing, and breaking down event booths, displays, and promotional materials. 
  • Assist with physical signage placement, installation, removal, and storage within the venues. 
  • Engage positively with event attendees, answer basic questions, and help collect leads or feedback. 
  • Coordinate marketing logistics such as vendor communication, schedules, and inventory tracking. 
  • Capture photos, videos, and live social media content during events. 
  • Assist with post-event tasks such as exit surveys, recap reports, and performance analysis. 
  • Provide general support to the marketing team on additional campaigns and projects as needed. 
  • Works nights and weekends frequently and holidays as required. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
Requirements

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong customer service orientation, and confidence speaking in group settings (public-speaking experience preferred). 
  • Must possess strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills. Proven problem-solving and multitasking skills are essential. 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, organizing, and completing projects within budget and time constraints. 
  • Comfortable engaging with the public and maintaining professional, courteous relationships with colleagues within all levels of the organization and external partners. 
  • Strong familiarity with social media platforms and editing programs. 
  • Requires working indoor and outdoors (in varied weather conditions) with a variety of businesses and individuals. 
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs. 

SALARY AND STATUS: 

Hourly $20.00 - $26.00            Non-Exempt
