We are looking for a Warehouse & Inventory Control Manager at our Louisville, KY location to support the Carrier Vibrating Equipment division. This is an onsite position that is responsible for the full lifecycle of our warehouse and inventory operations — from receiving and storage to distribution and inventory accuracy. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional weekends
Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Direct and oversee all receiving, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely operations.
- Develop and continuously improve processes for controlled receiving, storage, and shipment of materials and equipment.
- Schedule and assign warehouse staff, monitor work results, and drive accountability.
- Maintain daily and weekly operational reports to track department performance and parts distribution.
- Enforce organizational standards to sustain quality and service levels.
- Participate in the Export Compliance Committee.
- Be part of a rotating on-call schedule (approximately one week per month, shared among a small team); call volume is typically low, with occasional emergency requests that may require preparing and shipping critical parts. Includes a daily on-call stipend and additional compensation for responding to emergency service requests.
Inventory Control
- Manage all inventory control functions to maximize product availability, customer fulfillment rates, and inventory turns in line with sound accounting practices.
- Establish and adjust reorder points based on cost, supply, demand, sales trends, and product line changes.
- Conduct monthly inventory meetings to review and respond to inventory level adjustments.
- Execute monthly cycle counts to verify on-hand balances and maintain accurate scheduling.
- Run weekly auto-reorder reports and monitor item entries for database accuracy.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop warehouse staff; address performance through counseling and corrective action as needed.
- Develop and manage the yearly departmental budget.
- Foster seamless communication between inventory control, production, shipping, and aftermarket sales departments.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Lean Office principles to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Demonstrated experience in warehouse management and inventory control.
- Strong leadership and team development abilities.
- Analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making.
- Advanced problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with database report writing tools.
- Extensive experience with ERP/company operating systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Lean Office principles.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
- Comfortable working in variable temperature environments.
- Able to lift up to 70 lbs. regularly.
- Able to reach, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed.
- Heavy computer use throughout the workday.
