Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interview patients and document basic medical history
  • Take vitals pre/post-op and document findings in their patient chart
  • Organize, authorize, and schedule appointments for referrals
  • Send prescriptions electronically, by fax, or by verbally calling them in
  • Assist during medical examinations
  • Triage patient calls, assess the problem, consult with the physician
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Requirements

 Required License/Experience/Skills

  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and EMR systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • BLS Certification 
  • English 

Preferred License/Experience/Skills

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
