Description

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Partner with executive leadership to align HR initiatives with company objectives and long-term growth strategies 
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on organizational development, employee engagement, performance management, and workforce planning 
  • Help drive and strengthen ClearFreight’s culture across all offices and departments 

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented work environment 
  • Manage employee relations matters, conflict resolution, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement processes 
  • Support managers and employees through complex workplace situations with professionalism and discretion 
  • Promote employee engagement initiatives that support retention and company culture 

Talent Acquisition & Development

  • Oversee recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding processes across multiple departments and locations 
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and improve recruitment strategies 
  • Help develop training, mentorship, and professional development initiatives 
  • Ensure a strong and consistent onboarding experience for new hires 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Oversee employee benefits administration, including health plans, leave programs, and 401(k) participation 
  • Oversee compensation planning and market benchmarking to maintain competitive pay structures 
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of HR and payroll-related processes and data 

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations 
  • Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, procedures, and HR documentation 
  • Oversee workers’ compensation, leave administration, and other risk-management related functions 
  • Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive employee information 

HR Operations & Technology

  • Manage and optimize HRIS and payroll systems to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities 
  • Develop HR metrics and reporting to support business decisions and workforce planning 
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred 
  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience 
  • Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices 
  • Experience supporting multi-location organizations preferred 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, and talent management systems 
  • Logistics, transportation, supply chain, or freight forwarding industry experience is a plus
Salary Description
$135,000 - $145,000
