POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Server helps oversee operations for the entire dining room & the lounge including
training of service staff, organization, and cleanliness for the entire dining room & lounge, and
promoting a positive image to residents, families, and guests. The Lead Server will also provide
prompt and excellent service to residents & guests when preparing/serving food & drinks and by
overseeing & performing operations including organization and cleanliness for the entire area,
and promoting a positive & professional image to residents, families, and guests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Supports the mission, vision, and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting
company culture and vision.
• Provides formal training for all servers to provide a great experience for all residents and
guests.
• Establishes and assigns side work responsibilities for each section, by meal period.
• Inspects to ensure quality and accountability.
• Provides a great experience for all residents and guests.
• Ensure that all food & beverage venues in the dining room are clean and well maintained
for all aspects of service; including tables and chairs that are set in a uniform and
consistent manner.
• Ensure that all residents and guests are greeted promptly as they enter the Dining room or
Lounge areas.
• This position will provide excellent and timely customer service to all residents and
guests.
• Pre-open review for Pre-meal line up for Dining Room is conducted prior opening
includes but not limited to:
o The daily menu and specials.
o Personal presentation is in accordance with standards for uniforms and grooming.
o Inventory stock ready
o Resident special needs and concerns.
o Daily Service Training Points.
• Prepares food items and serves food to residents within scheduled timeframe.
• Recognizes performance issues and provides staff with corrective solutions.
• Cleans and maintains a neat, safe working environment including the kitchen and food
service areas.
• Ensures servers follow sequence of service for each resident and guest.
• Attends and participates in required meetings and training.
• Complies with state sanitation codes.
• Maintains inventory control, places food/supply orders with kitchen, verifies that items
are received appropriately and restocks dining room supply shelves/closet.
• Reports problems, concerns, issues observed with food or beverage service and
communicates them appropriately.
• Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates with
appropriate team members.
• Records resident information as required.
• Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
• Adheres to procedures for fire, life, safety, disaster, security, worker safety and other
emergency procedures.
• Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independent, choice,
individuality, and a home-like environment for residents.
• Maintains the quality of food prepared and samples the food to ensure the quality of the
food served to the residents.
• Attends training courses at community and maintains up to date monthly, quarterly,
annual training through designated Learning Management System (LMS).
