About the Role
The Team Lead plays a critical role in supporting daily manufacturing operations by providing frontline leadership, training, and direction to production assemblers. This position is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and adherence to standard work while serving as the primary point of support for employees on the production line. The Team Lead works closely with Production Supervisors and other departments to achieve operational goals and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Do
- Lead and support production assemblers to achieve daily safety, quality, and production targets.
- Assign work and balance manpower to support production requirements.
- Train, coach, and develop assemblers on work instructions, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and company procedures.
- Identify production issues, bottlenecks, inefficiencies and escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Support troubleshooting efforts and assist in resolving production-related challenges.
- Maintain staffing flexibility and cross-training matrices (Flex Charts).
- Master all workstations within assigned production areas and provide hands-on support when needed.
- Verify assemblers have the tools, equipment, materials, and resources necessary to perform assigned work.
- Conduct onboarding and training for new employees.
- Monitor employee attendance, timekeeping, and productivity.
- Review and approve employee timecards and PTO requests in accordance with company policy.
- Support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Communicate production updates, expectations, and daily priorities to team members.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing teams in a production environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production schedules, and standard operating procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and timekeeping systems preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 35 pounds as required in a manufacturing environment.
