The Stevens Point Area YMCA is looking for a Marketing Intern with a strong design background to support a wide range of marketing initiatives. Eligibility Requirements
To be hired and receive compensation through the Pointers Connect Internship (PCI) Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Currently enrolled at UW–Stevens Point
- Junior or Senior standing (60+ earned credits)
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Must identify as one or more of the following:
- First-generation college student
- Non-traditional student
- Pell-eligible student
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support the marketing team in the development and execution of digital and print marketing.
- Create, manage a deploy content across digital and print channels, including website, email and social media.
- Manage website content to ensure an optimal user experience across desktop and mobile platforms.
- Collaborate with internal team members to plan and execute marketing campaigns and events.
- Assist with writing, editing, and optimizing digital and print materials, including product messaging and brand storytelling.
- Maintaining marketing processes, best practices, and documentation while ensuring all materials align with brand guidelines.
- Meet established project deadlines and proactively communicate progress, updates, and potential issues to stakeholders.
- Serve as a backup support resource across other areas of the marketing team as needed.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and willingness to learn additional software platforms, knowledge of Canva a plus.

Essential Functions
The intern will assist with and/or perform marketing and fundraising tasks including:
- Communications & Marketing
- Assist with social media engagement and content creation
- Design posters, flyers, bulletin boards, and graphics for YMCA programs and events
- Departmental Support
- Assist with additional projects and duties as assigned by the Marketing Coordinator and/or Mission Advancement Director
Physical Requirements
Must be able to effectively communicate and actively interact with employees, members, volunteers, and the public in both individual and group settings. Ability to sit, stand, move throughout the facility, and use standard office equipment for extended periods of time may be required.
