Quality Engineer
Description

  

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Review customer orders to determine FAIR, PPAP      and source inspection requirements
  • Participate in Process      and Quality Planning meetings to ensure requirements are established and      implemented.
  • Create PPAPs      (Production Part Approval Process), Quality Assurance Test Plans, etc. as      required by customers.
  • Support Quality      Assurance Inspectors with FAIR document preparation to ensure that product      complies with the requirements of the applicable purchase order, drawings      and specifications. Review FAIRs.
  • Respond to customer      complaints, lead corrective action process on part-specific issues
  • Lead MRB process to      ensure nonconforming parts are dispositioned in a timely manner
  • Contribute to quality      system development and control, including for NADCAP processes
  • Maintain qualification      status of suppliers and address quality concerns with suppliers
  • Obtain Source      Certifying Agent (SCA) status, conduct internal audits including SCA      audits
  • Responsible for      continual improvement activities to enhance the Quality Management System      utilizing Six Sigma tools and strategies for process improvement. Collaboration with customer initiated      continual improvement activities (i.e. Kaizen/Lean Events, 6S…)
Requirements

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor of Science in a technical field preferred
  • Five (5) years of Quality Assurance experience in manufacturing required
  • Four (4) years of Quality Engineer experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, chemfilm, welding and/or brazing preferred
