PROGRAM DUTIES

  • Provide a loving Christian atmosphere to care for and teach children while using a variety of age-appropriate materials and methods.
  • Carry out daily and weekly housekeeping tasks to provide a safe and clean environment for children to grow and play.
  • Protect all children from hazards caused by other children.
  • Adhere to RRM discipline policies.
  • Assist Preschool/School Age Coordinator in keeping up-to-date records on children.
  • Maintain Daily Log of pertinent information for each child as needed.
  • Supervise and train STAARS volunteers.
  • Discuss and advise mothers about appropriate parenting techniques for their young children.
  • Participate with children in structured, daily activities.

  

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fill out requests for supplies and maintenance and submit to Children’s Program Director for approval.
  • Supervise holidays as assigned.
  • Attend weekly Staff Meetings and any other program support meetings.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned and/or are necessary.
  • Responsible for working together as a team and assisting other child care workers when necessary.

PHYSICAL FACTORS

  • Continuous standing, moving, reaching, bending, twisting, walking, stooping and kneeling
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent sitting on floor and child sized chairs.

SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take every opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
  • Provide spiritual encouragement to staff, volunteers, guests, and residents.
  • Invest in the spiritual development of staff, guests, residents, and donors.
  • Pray for and with staff, volunteers, guests, residents, and donors.
  • Ensure actions and policies reflect the Christian values and purpose of the Mission.
  • Handle relational conflicts according to the Staff Covenant of Romans 12:18 and Matthew 18:15-19
  • Memorize monthly Scripture, Mission Statement, and Mission Core Values.
  • Participate in corporate prayer and Scripture reading, staff chapel services, and all spiritual gatherings.
  • Support and attend annual mandatory Evangelism In Service training to grow in knowledge of leading others to faith in Christ.
  • Participate in annual spiritual growth training through organization selected curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum requirement High School or GED.
  • Must have a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must be active in a local Christian church.
  • Must demonstrate compassion toward the poor, needy, and homeless.
  • Must have strong leadership qualities and demonstrate character traits of integrity, trustworthiness, responsibility, etc.
  • Must display respect, gentleness, and accountability when interacting with the Recovery Program clients.
  • Must be teachable and function as a team player.
