Position Overview

Excalibur Park is looking for a strong, hospitality driven General Manager to lead day to day operations and help continue building one of the Grosse Pointe area’s neighborhood bar destinations.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, understands how to balance hospitality with operational discipline, and knows how to build a strong team culture. We are looking for a leader who is hands on, highly accountable, and genuinely enjoys creating memorable guest experiences.

The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the business including service standards, staffing, financial performance, inventory controls, events, guest relations, and overall bar operations.


Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the restaurant and bar
  • Maintain a strong floor presence during service
  • Hire, train, coach, and develop FOH staff and managers
  • Build schedules that align with business levels and labor goals
  • Drive hospitality standards and guest satisfaction
  • Monitor inventory, ordering, and beverage cost controls
  • Manage payroll, labor percentages, and operating expenses
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and maintenance standards are upheld
  • Oversee private events, entertainment nights, and community activations
  • Handle guest feedback professionally and proactively
  • Work closely with ownership on operational goals and business growth
  • Create a positive, accountable, team oriented culture

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of General Manager or senior hospitality management experience
  • Strong background in high volume bar and restaurant operations
  • Experience managing beverage programs and liquor inventory
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to stay calm and solution oriented under pressure
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Experience with scheduling, payroll, and POS systems
  • Nights, weekends, and holiday availability required

Salary Description
55,000 - 60,000 annually
