Title:  Annual Giving Officer 

Reports to:  Director, Individual Giving and Stewardship 

Purpose of Position This position will play a key role in managing direct mail fundraising and assisting with individual donor stewardship. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advocates for the mission of the organization and upholds the agency's values
  • Implement strategy for individual giving below $1,000. Improves donor participation, retention and acquisition rates to meet fundraising goals. 
  • Work closely with Director of Individual Giving, Director of Prospect Development, and Web and Content Manager to ensure seamless cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual annual fund donors and prospects. 
  • Direct Mail Appeal Management: Manage direct mail program, including donor acquisition and renewal. This includes developing and maintaining an annual appeal calendar. Review and provide input and edits to  approve creative packages to help ensure accuracy and effectiveness of  appeals. Review and interpret reports from direct mail vendor and generate additional reports as needed.
  • Primary responsibility for recurring gift program, honor/memorial gift, and new donor stewardship.
  • Fundraising Communications - Writes, coordinates and manages annual giving communications including but not      limited to donor acknowledgements, annual tax letter, print newsletter, and other collateral as required. Provides writing and editorial support, as needed.
  • Provides database support to the individual giving team, as needed, including appeal reports.
Requirements

  

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fund raising or marketing, with proven success in direct mail, online and/or annual giving. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have experience with and excellent knowledge of Word  and Excel software applications; Proficiency working with donor management  systems (Raiser’s Edge preferred) and marketing tools (such as Constant  Contact). 
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills 
  • Prior experience in non-profit communications and online fundraising a plus. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; well  organized

  • Experience working with/for non-profit organizations

Salary Description
$60,000-$75,000 depending on experience
