The Independent Technician installs, test, and troubleshoots copper and fiber optic systems with minimal supervision. This role interprets, drawings, executes installations, and ensures systems meet performance and certification standards. The technician works in commercial and data center environments and is responsible for productivity, accuracy, and technical execution.
Focus: Advanced technical execution and problem-solving. Designed for participants with stronger technical aptitude or relevant prior experience. Participants perform more advanced work, assist with troubleshooting, and support project execution with less direct supervision.

- Advanced fiber and copper installation practices
- Testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of infrastructure issues
- System verification and quality assurance processes
- Interpreting more detailed project drawings and specifications
- Workflow coordination and field communication
- Exposure to higher-complexity technical environments
Outcome: Participants are prepared for advanced technician or specialist roles and are expected to contribute meaningfully to project delivery and technical quality.
To be considered for this position you must have the following:
- Possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
- Duration of training: 61 - 90 days
- Perform copper and fiber installations independently
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and documentation
- Read and interpret blueprints and project specs
- Ensure compliance with industry standards
- Placement on a track is based on prior experience, military background, technical aptitude, business needs, and program availability.

To be eligible for SkillBridge, you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be eligible to participate in Fellowship per DoD Instruction 1322.29.
- Must be projected to receive an honorable discharge from the military.
- Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date.
- Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.
- Must be located within a commutable distance or willing/approved to relocate to the job location
The EOA Technologies SkillBridge Program is organized into five structured training tracks designed to support transitioning Service Members as they build practical, career-ready skills in telecommunications, data center infrastructure, technical operations, and leadership support functions. Each track is intended to provide hands-on learning, supervised experience, and exposure to real-world business operations.
