Job Summary:
The Site Supervisor oversees all transportation field operations within the allocated site boundaries. Site Supervisors work closely with civil teams on designing and constructing improvements for access to the wind farm sites to ensure that they are accessible and built to the required specifications to be completed safely, on time, and within budget. They monitor and direct contractor activities from start to finish and direct and oversee various contractors and subcontractors from site preparation and foundation laying to the final touches. The Site Supervisor reports to the Field Operations Manager.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
1. Oversee daily transportation field operations within assigned site boundaries.
2. Lead daily JSA meetings and enforce company, customer, DOT, state, and federal safety requirements.
3. Coordinate daily work assignments, manpower, equipment needs, contractor activities, and transportation schedules.
4. Work with civil teams to ensure site access roads, entrances, laydown areas, and related improvements are built to required specifications.
5. Monitor site conditions, equipment needs, operational risks, and project progress, escalating issues as needed.
6. Direct and support contractors, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
7. Serve as a site-level point of contact for customers, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
8. Complete accurate daily reports, including work progress, manpower, equipment usage, delays, incidents, and safety observations.
9. Other duties as needed or assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years in the heavy haul transportation industry
- Strong knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite
- Background knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance
- Labor management experience of 5+ people
- Extensive background knowledge in the transportation and crane industry
- Working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations
- Capable of writing reports and business correspondence
- Excellent leadership skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
This position is on site, often in remote or rural areas. Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements in all work environments.
Specific requirements include:
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Casper, WY: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
