Information Technology Intern

Position Objective

The Information Technology Intern will support day-to-day IT operations and improvement initiatives across reporting, systems, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business technology projects. This role is designed for a student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced business environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with reporting and analytics initiatives, including developing dashboards and KPI reporting in Power BI.
  • Support analysis of existing reports and processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute to software development and automation projects using programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, HTML, and CSS.
  • Assist with cybersecurity initiatives, including reviewing ISO 27001-related requirements, supporting DevOps security improvements, and identifying practical enhancement opportunities.
  • Create and maintain IT documentation, procedures, and process materials.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to support technology-related projects, including equipment mapping, layout documentation, and hardware location tracking.
  • Support asset management activities such as hardware tracking, labeling, and inventory accuracy.
  • Participate in weekly project meetings and contribute ideas for resolving open issues and improving processes.
  • Assist with user access reviews, security audits, and data standardization or cleansing efforts.
  • Support endpoint and systems projects, including new computer deployments and Windows 11 upgrade coordination.
  • Assist with network, infrastructure, and identity-related projects such as VLAN improvements, Wi-Fi enhancements, Entra support, and Linux-based system initiatives.
  • Contribute to real-time analytics, integration, and operational improvement projects across the business.
  • Provide project and team support coverage as needed and assist with other IT and business systems tasks assigned.



Requirements

Education, Training & Experience

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  •  Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  •  Basic understanding of IT systems, networking, cybersecurity principles, and business technology environments.
  •  Exposure to one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft tools, reporting platforms, or analytics solutions such as Power BI is preferred.
  •  Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  •  Ability to communicate effectively, document processes clearly, and work collaboratively across teams.
  •  Willingness to learn, take initiative, and support a variety of technical and administrative tasks.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux environments.
  • Interest in cybersecurity, infrastructure, and systems administration.
  • Experience with data integration, reporting, or process improvement projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a dynamic environment.
