This Team Lead role will support the warehouse leadership team by assisting with the day-to-day operation of a section within the Warehouse function. Responsible for a group of operators to ensure efficient and safe warehouse operations in achieving business targets. Provide line management to the team, coordinate workloads, and provide support. Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and team objectives. Work under general supervision, reviewed by leadership.

  • Assist the department supervisor with running efficient warehouse operations to meet operational targets 
  • Ensure delivery of materials to production lines as required to meet production schedules 
  • Train new warehouse associates in area of responsibility 
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels
  • Make recommendations to the supervisor for process and system enhancements that will improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
  • Resolve personnel and process issues where possible. Elevate issues to the supervisor as necessary.
  • Assist the supervisor with capacity planning
  • Ensure published safety standards are being observed by associates
  • Ensure a clean and tidy working environment
  • Support supervisor with personnel management including accurate time and attendance and productivity tracking.
  • Communicate daily priorities, targets, and operational requirements with department staff
  • Report progress updates, key achievements and any concerns to the supervisor and/or Manager
  • Ensure that vehicles, machinery and equipment is well maintained and fit for purpose 


Requirements

Qualifications: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience: 

  • A minimum of 1 year of related experience is desired
  • A minimum of 1 year Machine operating experience
  • Previous experience loading/unloading trailers is desired

Language Ability: 

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.


Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to identify practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 


Computer Skills: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to learn the application of RF equipment.


Work Environment: 

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to forklifts, and motorized conveyors. The employee’s work will be performed in a non-climate controlled warehouse 95% of the time the other 5% being performed in the office environment. The employee will be exposed to moderate noise levels.


Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, lift, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch, talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
