We are seeking dedicated families, couples, or individuals to open their homes and hearts as Professional Parents. In this role, you will provide a stable, supportive, and therapeutic environment for a [child/adult] with developmental or intellectual disabilities. You are not just providing a room; you are a key member of a professional team dedicated to helping an individual gain independence, social skills, and a sense of belonging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Living Support: Assist with or teach skills related to personal hygiene, meal preparation, dressing, and household chores.
  • Health & Wellness: Manage and document medication administration; coordinate and transport to medical, dental, and therapy appointments.
  • Behavioral Support: Implement individualized behavioral plans with a focus on de-escalation and positive reinforcement.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate daily logs, progress notes, and incident reports in accordance with state and company regulations.
  • Community Engagement: Actively facilitate social inclusion by taking the individual to community events, volunteer work, or recreational activities.
  • Mentorship: Act as a role model for social cues, financial management (where applicable), and emotional regulation.
Requirements

 Professional Parents Must have

  • 2 years experience  Host homing/Fostering 
  • Walsh background check required 
  • Married or single no live in partner
  • Home or apartment must meet requirements 
  • 21 years or older
