Position Summary
PacTec Inc. is seeking an experienced Warehouse and Shipping Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Cartersville, GA warehouse. This position will be responsible for managing warehouse and shipping activities, ensuring incoming inventory is received and stored properly, and customer orders are accurately and efficiently fulfilled and shipped.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and willing to be involved in all aspects of daily operations. This position will lead a team of approximately 1–2 office staff and/or supervisors and 8–10 warehouse associates while maintaining a safe, organized, productive, and positive work environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities
· Lead, supervise, and develop warehouse and shipping personnel, including office staff, supervisors, and warehouse associates.
· Oversee the receiving, storage, handling, picking, packing, and shipping of inventory.
· Coordinate and ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders, primarily through LTL shipments.
· Establish and maintain effective warehouse practices, procedures, and protocols to improve efficiency and productivity.
· Promote a positive work environment based on teamwork, mutual respect, accountability, and adherence to PacTec’s principles and values.
· Ensure accurate use and compliance with warehouse, inventory, and transportation management systems and software.
· Monitor inventory levels, accuracy, organization, and movement throughout the facility.
· Collaborate with executive management to establish warehouse and team goals and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
· Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks and ensure products and materials are handled safely and properly.
· Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, ISO 9001, and other relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
· Manage overall facility operations, including productivity, quality control, inventory control, reporting, housekeeping, and general warehouse organization.
· Monitor performance and provide coaching, training, and directions to employees as needed.
· Forecast staffing needs and maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates.
· Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training warehouse employees.
· Train employees on safe and proper operation of forklifts, machinery, equipment, and other warehouse tools.
· Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all core warehouse and shipping functions and ensure adequate cross-training within the team.
· Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and customer service.
· Maintain accurate records and reports related to warehouse and shipping operations.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
· Previous warehouse management, shipping, logistics, or supervisory experience required.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to set goals, motivate employees, provide direction, and effectively address workplace issues.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening.
· Multilingual communication skills are a plus.
· Strong project management, decision-making, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
· Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail.
· Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, logistics, and industry best practices.
· Familiarity with bookkeeping, inventory control procedures, and basic operational reporting.
· Comfortable using inventory management systems, warehouse/shipping software, and standard computer applications, including spreadsheets.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on warehouse environment.
· Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with executive management and warehouse personnel.
· Forklift experience required.
· Ability to train employees in the safe operation of warehouse equipment and machinery.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
· Ability to regularly bend, crouch, reach, stretch, kneel, and move throughout the warehouse and facility.
· Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to safely perform hands-on warehouse duties, including loading and unloading trucks and handling products and materials.
· Ability to work in a warehouse environment where conditions may vary, including exposure to noise, equipment, varying temperatures, and other normal warehouse conditions.
