Position Summary

The Director of Interior Design Production is responsible for leading the technical execution and delivery of interior design projects across the firm's hospitality, gaming, entertainment, food & beverage, luxury residential, and integrated resort portfolios. This leadership role oversees production teams, establishes documentation standards, manages staffing resources, and ensures the successful delivery of high-quality construction documents, specifications, consultant coordination, and project implementation.


The Director of Interior Design Production serves as a critical bridge between design leadership and project execution, ensuring that creative concepts are translated into accurate, coordinated, and buildable project documentation while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget objectives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Production Leadership

  • Lead and manage the Interior Design Production team across multiple projects and studios.
  • Develop,  implement, and maintain firm-wide production standards, best practices,  and quality control procedures.
  • Establish documentation protocols and drawing standards to ensure consistency across all projects.
  • Monitor project  workloads and staffing requirements to optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with Design Directors and Project Directors to align production efforts  with project goals and schedules.
  • Mentor and develop production staff through training, coaching, and performance management.

Project Delivery

  • Oversee the production of schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration deliverables.
  • Ensure project documentation is accurate, coordinated, and compliant with client requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
  • Review project packages for quality, completeness, and constructability.
  • Manage production schedules and coordinate deliverable deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Identify and proactively resolve production challenges and technical issues.

Technical Excellence

  • Maintain expertise in hospitality and gaming project documentation standards.
  • Direct consultant coordination efforts including architecture, MEP, structural, lighting, signage, AV, kitchen, and specialty consultants.
  • Ensure integration of FF&E documentation, finish schedules, specifications, and design intent into project deliverables.
  • Lead implementation of emerging technologies and workflow improvements.
  • Support construction administration efforts and provide technical guidance during  project execution.

Resource Management

  • Develop staffing plans and production forecasts.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention of production personnel.
  • Evaluate team performance and establish professional development plans.
  • Manage production budgets and labor allocations.
  • Coordinate internal and external production resources as necessary.

Client & Consultant Coordination

  • Participate in client presentations and project meetings as needed.
  • Serve as a  technical resource for project teams and clients.
  • Foster strong  working relationships with consultants, contractors, vendors, and      ownership groups.
  • Support project  teams during value engineering and construction coordination efforts.

Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor's  Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related  field required.

Experience

  • 15+ years of  interior design experience with a focus on hospitality, gaming, entertainment, luxury residential, or large-scale commercial projects.
  • Minimum 7 years  in a senior production leadership role.
  • Demonstrated  experience managing large, complex hospitality and integrated resort      projects.
  • Proven success  leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating consultants.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of hospitality design documentation and construction practices.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, codes, accessibility requirements, anconstruction methodologies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience  implementing quality control procedures and production standards.
  • Proficiency in Revit,  BIM 360, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, project management platforms, and document management systems.
  • Experience with Procore and construction administration platforms preferred.
