We are seeking a Political Director to lead one of the most important functions of our organization: building winning relationships with candidates, guiding endorsements, developing campaign strategy, and strengthening the political infrastructure necessary to advance a culture of life.

What You'll Do

Lead SBA's Candidate Engagement Strategy 

• Direct the SBA Candidate Fund endorsement process, including candidate recruitment, interviews, vetting, and recommendations. 
• Build and maintain strong relationships with endorsed candidates throughout the campaign cycle. 
• Serve as a trusted advisor and resource to candidates seeking to advance pro-life policies. 

Build Strategic Political Partnerships 

• Serve as SBA's primary liaison to party committees, campaign staff, elected officials, consultants, and allied organizations. 
• Strengthen and expand relationships across the pro-life and conservative movement. 
• Represent SBA in high-level political discussions and coalition-building efforts. 

Train and Equip Winning Candidates 

• Develop and deliver candidate training programs focused on effective pro-life messaging, campaign strategy, and voter engagement. 
• Help candidates confidently communicate pro-life positions in a rapidly changing political environment. 
• Provide strategic guidance that helps campaigns connect with voters and win. 

Drive Political Operations 

• Oversee PAC budget planning and execution. 
• Collaborate with SBA's Communications team to elevate endorsed candidates and advance strategic messaging. 
• Supervise and mentor a full-time Political Researcher and Writer. 
• Identify political opportunities and challenges while helping position SBA and its allies for success. 

What You'll Bring 

• Experience working in political campaigns, public affairs, advocacy organizations, party committees, or issue-based movements. 
• Strong political judgment and strategic thinking. 
• Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills. 
• Experience engaging candidates, elected officials, campaign staff, donors, or coalition partners. 
• Outstanding written, verbal, and public speaking abilities. 
• Strong organizational and leadership skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities. 
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and attention to detail. 
• An unwavering commitment to the pro-life mission. 

Position Type & Work Schedule

This is a full-time position.   The position requires occasional work outside of normal office hours. 

Supervisory Requirements

Position will supervise a full-time political researcher and writer. 

Travel Requirements

Travel in and around the Washington, DC area is required. Occasional political travel outside of Washington, DC is required.
