Description
Our Extended Care staff provides childcare for our students from 2:30 until 6pm. Currently, we are looking for staff to care for our Kindergarten-8th Grade students. We are looking for candidates who can connect with children, supervise and lead them through activities, and keep them safe.
Extended Care Teacher/Caregiver Responsibilities
- Know what is expected in child supervision
- Mental presence
- Active prevention
- Works with the director to plan a schedule which reflects the need for children to have a balance of activities, which may include structured and unstructured time, active and quiet time, private time to relax, large and small motor activities, and group and individual activities
- Works well with other teachers/caregivers
- Provides quality service to those enrolled in the program following the guidelines of the school
- Able to work in partnership with parents through frequent communications, goal setting, and problem solving, to ensure that each child has a successful experience in the program
- Ensures conformity with health, safety and licensing regulations
- Is prepared for daily activities: secures equipment and supplies prior to events planned
- Assure that caregiver-child ratios and group sizes are small enough to enable staff to meet the needs of all the students
- Perform any other tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate for the proper operation of the program and the faith-environment within the program
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who are extremely dependable and take their responsibilities to heart as our parents put great trust in them to care for their children.
- You must be 18 years old and a high school graduate.
- You must be able to pass a TBI Fingerprint background check.
- Some childcare experience is preferred
- CPR and First Aid Cerification preferred
Salary Description
$15-17 per hour
