We are currently seeking full-time Dining Room Supervisors to lead and support our front-of-house dining team. In this role, you will train and mentor staff, coordinate schedules, and ensure an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests.
The ideal candidate is a confident hospitality leader with a strong commitment to service excellence, resident satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Experience in senior living environments such as long-term care, assisted living, or memory support is preferred, along with a passion for serving older adults.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise daily dining room operations across multiple levels of care, ensuring consistent service standards in independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards specific to healthcare and senior living environments.
- Coordinate closely with culinary and nursing teams to ensure resident dietary needs, restrictions, and preferences are accurately met.
- Support therapeutic and modified diets by ensuring staff understand proper service procedures and resident-specific instructions.
- Maintain a strong resident-centered approach, fostering positive relationships with residents, families, and guests.
- Respond promptly to resident concerns, service issues, and special requests with professionalism and urgency.
- Monitor staff performance during service and provide real-time coaching and corrective feedback when needed.
- Oversee proper setup, cleanliness, and presentation of dining rooms before, during, and after service.
- Ensure accurate documentation of dining service issues, incidents, and resident feedback.
- Support memory care dining services with patience, structure, and appropriate assistance techniques.
- Assist with catering, special events, and holiday functions within the community.
- Ensure staff adherence to hospitality standards, grooming policies, and professional conduct expectations.
- Promote teamwork and communication between dining, culinary, and other departments to ensure seamless service.
- Assist with inventory control, supply ordering, and cost-conscious operations.
- Maintain flexibility to support service coverage during staffing shortages, peak periods, or special events.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
- Experience supervising front-of-house teams in hospitality; CCRC or senior living experience preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of progressive hospitality experience, preferably in fine dining or restaurant management.
- Strong knowledge of service standards, dining room operations, and therapeutic diets in healthcare/senior living settings.
- Proven ability to lead, train, and hold staff accountable while maintaining a positive, service-focused culture.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with culinary, nursing, and resident services teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and customer service skills with a resident-centered approach.
- Experience conducting training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting events, banquets, and special functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, POS systems, and reservation platforms (e.g., OpenTable).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
