General Statement of Position:
The Before and after School Program Director is responsible for the daily running of the program (Before the Bell, and After the bell). This is a part time position with the Channahon Park District and is a non IMRF eligible position
Representative Essential Job Functions:
· Responsible for the daily running of the Before School Program and After School Program. This includes proper sign in procedures for all participants; confirming they self-certified before entering the program, providing a morning snack, running various activities and overall supervision.
· Is responsible for turning in supply lists to the Program Supervisor in advance.
· Supervises, disciplines, and encourages kids to play and interact in a respectful manner.
· Communicates important information with the parents.
· Maintains a positive community image for the District and maintaining a positive environment among the District’s organizational divisions.
· Actively supports the Safety Policy and the District’s established loss control program, including training, safety rules, and developing ideas for the prevention of incidents, while providing a safe environment for Park District staff members and patrons.
· Communicates with Program Supervisor on needs of the program and needs of the staff.
· Assists in other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor.
· Attends all in house trainings as directed by Program Supervisor.
Marginal Job Functions:
· Physical set up of tables and chairs for daily program when needed.
· Sanitization of supplies/tables/equipment before the program starts and after the program ends.
· Being knowledgeable about other park district events and programs.
· Assisting customers with questions regarding other departments.
· Maintain facility cleanliness both inside and outside of program participants.
· Maintains a team atmosphere with all other departments.
· Performs other duties relating to the position as directed, delegated, or as may be necessary.

Qualifications:
Some post high school education. Education or recreation based is preferred. Must experience working with kids in a similar setting. Must have good customer service. Regular schedules of 7:00am-8:30am, and 2:30pm-6:00pm Monday-Friday during the regular school week. Following the Channahon School District 17 schedule.
Position Considerations:
· Must be available Monday-Friday from 7:00am-8:30am. Or 2:30pm-6pm
· Must have good safety awareness.
· Must communicate well with others.
· Must work well under stressful conditions and in stressful situations.
· Must be able to resolve conflict and use good judgment.
· Will be expected to display initiative both when working within area of responsibilities or helping others.
