Description
Purpose:
Prepare cost estimates for projects to aid in bidding and determining the price of products and services.
Job Description
- Responsible for the estimation of all costs of projects, including raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation.
- Responsible for the collection, classification, and analysis of historical data.
- May be required to read blueprints or architectural drawings to determine necessary resources for projects within budgetary constraints.
- Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints.
- Perform bid sheet preparation (Excel), solicit subcontractor proposals, advertisements as needed, take-offs, attend pre-bid walks.
- Identify qualified subcontractors/suppliers.
- Review quotes for completeness with plans and specifications
- Assist with timely completion of all client-required prequal packages
- Review subcontractor proposals prior to contract issuance for complete work scopes.
- Assist field personnel with estimating Change Orders, RFPs, and clarification of RFI’s.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and buy-outs
