Job Title: Lead
Job Summary: This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations by coordinating workflow, assisting team members, and promoting a safe and productive work environment. This role serves as a working lead and point of contact for employees on the production floor, helping ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to company standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assist in coordinating daily production activities and workflow to meet production schedules, deadlines, and operational goals
· Lead by example by following and enforcing company policies, safety procedures, and PPE requirements
· Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and support to production employees
· Assist with assigning work tasks and ensuring employees have the materials and resources needed to perform their jobs
· Communicate production updates, operational concerns, and staffing needs to management
· Ensure pre-use inspections are completed on equipment prior to operation, and post-use inspections of both the equipment and work area are completed before leaving for the day.
· Assist with troubleshooting production or equipment issues and escalate concerns as needed
· Partner with the Quality Control team to ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications
· Identify and report roadblocks that impact production flow or prevent the team from meeting daily goals
· Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards; immediately report observed safety concerns or violations
· Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and production equipment as required and certified
· Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department
· Perform other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
· Ability to prioritize tasks and support multiple production demands
· Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations
· Ability to read, write, communicate, and interpret blueprints
· Ability to read production schedules, work orders, and operational documentation
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or GED preferred
· Previous manufacturing or industrial experience required
· Prior lead, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred
· Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes required
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
· Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, stand, and walk for extended periods
· Ability to safely operate and work around heavy machinery and moving materials
