JOB SUMMARY
CHG Group, Inc. (CHGi) is the U.S. headquarters of Chemring Group PLC (PLC). The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for CHGi serves as the deputy to the Chief People Officer (CPO), providing HR support across CHGi and the U.S. business units (BU). This role plays a critical part in executing the organization’s people strategy, strengthening organizational capability, driving continuous improvement and cultural excellence, and ensuring that HR initiatives directly support mission-critical business objectives. The Senior HRBP partners closely with the CPO, BU leadership teams, HR teams and cross functional teams to deliver high impact solutions across talent management, organizational development, employee relations, benefit and regulatory compliance, workforce planning, and employee engagement that maximize the effectivity of the function across the U.S. and ensure alignment with Corporate initiatives. This is a highly visible role requiring exceptional judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead or support enterprise-wide HR programs, including culture initiatives, organizational design, and change management efforts
- Serve as a subject matter expert on HR matters, providing clear, consistent policy interpretation and guidance to employees, managers, and leadership
- Ensure compliance with geography and industry-specific regulations and labor laws
- Drive talent management processes, including succession planning, leadership development, key talent pipeline strategies, and performance management
- Support leaders in building high performing teams through coaching, feedback, and workforce insights
- Coach and advise leaders in employee relations issues and ensure accurate, timely feedback and escalation of issues when needed; ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws, government contracting requirements and internal policies; support CPO in conducting investigations as required
- Partner with business unit and functional leaders to align HR strategies with operational priorities, long range planning, and program execution requirements
- Collaborate with BU HR Teams to ensure seamless delivery of HR services, including compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, and learning
- Support the development, communication, and implementation of HR initiatives, policies and procedures
- Lead change management initiatives and organizational development programs to support continuous improvement and innovation, including the monitoring of HR metrics and trends to inform decision-making and drive operational excellence
- Lead or support major HR projects, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
- Ensure timely execution, communication, and alignment of HR initiatives across all business units
- Foster a positive working environment where employees are comfortable addressing concerns with management and Human Resources
- Support HRBP in resolving or responding to employee inquiries
- Support BU HR Teams with local initiatives, guidance, and project deliverables as needed
- Ensure consistent application of Company policies and procedures
- Collaborate closely with the CPO to communicate HR vision, drive engagement, and implement best practices throughout the organization

- Comply with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Ensure 100% compliance with the Chemring Operational Framework, Code of Conduct and U.S. Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
- Participate in cross-functional committees as an HR representative
- Provide support for the CPO for all aspects of the business
- Provide mentorship to junior HR team members; backup for members of the team as needed
- Special projects and additional duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- HR Professional Certification is preferred; ability to gain certification within 12 months of hire is required
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience and knowledge in full scope Human Resources disciplines
- Significant experience as an HR Business Partner supporting leadership
- Aerospace and defense industry and government contracting experience is strongly preferred
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance commensurate with the level of facility clearance
- Proven experience in HRBP roles within the aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industries
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, coach and build trust with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgement in sensitive or ambiguous situations; demonstrated capacity for managing complex projects and driving organizational change
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR regulations, compliance standards, and industry-specific requirements
- Ability to represent the Company positively and professionally through behavior, attitude and communication
- Strong team player and willingness to create solutions and accept ownership for new and different requests
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational development, and talent management
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action
- Demonstrated success leading complex HR initiatives and cross functional projects
- High level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential information
- Exceptional attention to detail, high degree of accuracy and ability to independently perform multiple assignments
- Self-motivated and capable of working under tight deadlines and prioritizing multiple tasks
- Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, weighing up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Use of computer. Travel occasionally, up to 15%.
