Description
Matthews Motors is seeking a dependable and customer-focused CDL Porter to support our Sales Department. In this role, you'll be responsible for transporting, staging, organizing, and delivering commercial trucks and trailers while ensuring our inventory is presentation-ready for customers. You'll work closely with the sales team to maintain an organized lot, coordinate vehicle movements, assist with deliveries, and help create a positive customer experience. This position is ideal for someone with a CDL, strong organizational skills, and a passion for working with commercial vehicles in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide transportation and delivery support for the Sales Department.
- Transport trailers, trucks, and commercial units between dealership locations, customer locations, vendors, and upfit facilities as needed.
- Assist the sales team by staging, positioning, and presenting inventory for customer viewings and demonstrations.
- Move and organize trailer and truck inventory throughout the dealership property to maintain a professional and customer-friendly appearance.
- Prepare sold units for customer delivery, ensuring vehicles are clean, properly parked, and readily accessible.
- Coordinate with sales staff to ensure inventory is available and positioned for customer appointments.
- Maintain accurate inventory location records and assist with regular inventory audits.
- Conduct basic pre-delivery inspections and report any damage, maintenance concerns, or inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure sales lots, display areas, and inventory storage locations remain organized and functional.
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with customers during deliveries, pickups, and lot visits.
- Support dealership events, customer demonstrations, and special sales initiatives as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 1 year of porter, transportation, or commercial vehicle driving experience preferred.
- Current CDL License required.
- Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical Card).
- Clean driving record.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with commercial trucks, trailers, and dealership operations is preferred.
