Our Dispensing Pharmacy Technician role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in ensuring every medication is prepared accurately and efficiently. Whether you're an experienced pharmacy technician or someone looking to expand your skills within an independent compounding pharmacy, we'd love to meet! You will play a critical role in the medication preparation and dispensing process while helping maintain the quality standards our patients rely on.


What You'll Do

  • Meet or exceed dispensing productivity goals following the training period:
  • Average 225 dispenses daily
  • Average 1,125 dispenses weekly
  • Dispense compounded medications and package products appropriately
  • Select appropriate packaging and labeling materials
  • Manage inventory and maintain stock accuracy
  • Maintain accurate documentation of medications prepared, dispensed, and disposed of within pharmacy systems
  • Perform visual inspections of sterile products
  • Assist with quality control activities for sterile and non-sterile compounded medications
  • Participate in internal communications through Slack
  • Cross-train in other departments and locations as needed
  • Support direct patient care by ensuring accuracy and quality of all dispensed products
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current South Carolina Pharmacy Technician Registration
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of pharmacy or related healthcare experience
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Experience in an independent pharmacy setting
  • Experience working in a compounding laboratory
  • Experience with Pharmetika pharmacy software
  • Experience using Slack or similar communication platforms
