Project Budget Coordinator

Description

  

· Oversees the financial aspects of projects, ensuring they stay within budgetary restraints and align with organizational objectives. 

· Facilitates communication and collaborates between team members, management, and vendors to achieve project goals. 

· Processes and reviews construction invoices, verifies retainage, ensures timely payments to vendors. 

· Enters and reviews budget adjustments for compliance with City policy.

· Reviews expense requisitions for appropriate coding. 

· Provides assistance to departments on matters related to budget allocations and reports.

· Reviews expense reports and researches discrepancies to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted amounts.

· Provides assistance to departments in preparing the operating fiscal year budget, capital plan, and position allocation list.

· Prepares a variety of regular and special reports.

· Assists in reviewing operational and financial budget proposals submitted by department heads and managers.

· Assists in preparing and submitting operation and capital budget summaries for review by senior management and City Council.

· Assists in the preparation of final budget documents.

· Performs related duties.

Requirements

  

· Knowledge of project life cycles. 

· Knowledge of AIA construction invoices and computation of retainage.

· Knowledge of budget development and GAAP principles and practices.

· Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, city ordinances, and department policies and procedures.

· Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

· Skill in problem solving.

· Skill in prioritizing and planning.

· Skill in interpersonal relations.

· Skill in oral and written communication.

  

· Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to Accounting or Finance.

· Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.

· Ability to be bonded.
