Purpose of the Role

The Social Media Strategist plays a critical role in bringing our brand to life across social platforms through compelling storytelling, community engagement, and algorithm-winning content. This role sits within the Marketing team and is responsible for driving Consuela’s organic social media presence primarily across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok while helping grow a highly engaged, loyal community around the brand.


This person lives at the intersection of creativity, culture, trends, storytelling, and analytics. They understand how to create content that resonates emotionally while also performing strategically within ever-evolving platform algorithms. The Social Media Strategist is equal parts creative thinker, trend forecaster, community builder, and operational executor.


Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Marketing, this role partners closely with Creative, Brand Marketing, Retail, Ecommerce, Customer Experience, and external partners to ensure social content reflects the heart of the Consuela brand while driving meaningful engagement and audience growth.

This role is based onsite in Austin, Texas, and remote candidates will not be considered.


Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Execution

  • Own and execute Consuela’s organic social media strategy across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
  • Develop platform-specific content strategies that align with brand priorities, product launches, campaigns, and storytelling moments
  • Create and manage social content calendars that balance strategic planning with agile, trend-responsive content opportunities
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment between social storytelling, brand campaigns, retail initiatives, ecommerce priorities, and community engagement
  • Identify opportunities to increase reach, engagement, follower growth, and brand relevance through algorithm-friendly content strategies
  • Continuously evaluate platform performance and optimize content approaches based on insights, trends, and analytics

Content Development & Storytelling

  • Concept and create compelling social-first content that reflects the Consuela brand voice, aesthetic, and spirit
  • Collaborate closely with Creative and Brand teams to translate campaigns, launches, and brand moments into engaging social storytelling
  • Capture and produce real-time content including photo, video, Reels, TikToks, behind-the-scenes storytelling, and community-driven content
  • Write engaging social copy that feels authentic, conversational, and aligned with the Consuela brand
  • Maintain a strong understanding of evolving content formats, editing styles, hooks, and storytelling approaches that drive performance on Instagram and TikTok
  • Help evolve Consuela’s social presence in ways that feel culturally relevant while remaining true to the brand

Community Engagement

  • Foster meaningful engagement with the Consuela community across social platforms
  • Monitor comments, DMs, tags, and conversations to ensure timely and thoughtful engagement
  • Build relationships with customers, creators, brand fans, and community advocates
  • Identify opportunities to amplify user-generated content, community stories, and brand affinity moments
  • Serve as a pulse point for customer sentiment, community feedback, and emerging conversations relevant to the brand

Trends, Culture & Insights

  • Stay deeply connected to social media trends, platform changes, pop culture moments, creators, and emerging digital behaviors
  • Identify timely opportunities for the brand to participate in relevant cultural conversations
  • Bring fresh ideas and creative concepts forward regularly to keep content dynamic and engaging
  • Monitor competitor activity and industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation
  • Use data and performance insights to guide recommendations and continuously improve content effectiveness
Requirements

What You Bring to the Role

  • 3–5 years of experience managing and growing organic social media channels for a consumer-facing brand
  • Proven success creating high-performing content on Instagram and TikTok specifically
  • Deep understanding of social media algorithms, platform behaviors, and engagement drivers
  • Strong creative eye with experience capturing and editing social-first photo and video content
  • Exceptional storytelling and copywriting skills with an ability to adapt tone across platforms and audiences
  • Strong understanding of internet culture, trends, creators, and evolving social behaviors
  • Highly organized with strong project management and cross-functional communication skills
  • Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on content execution
  • Experience working in fast-paced, growth-stage environments with evolving priorities
  • Passion for fashion, art, storytelling, hospitality, and creating meaningful brand experiences
  • Experience using social media management, analytics, and content editing tools preferred
