Description

JOB SUMMARY: Carry out meal plans, and cleaning plans as delegated by the Food and Nutrition Manager and/or Supervisor. Use menus, recipes, work schedules and cleaning schedules as guidelines to meet the daily nutritional care of patients, Congregate Meal clients, and other meal programs within the department.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve food for patients, employees, guests and Congregate Meal clients according to menu plans and state and federal food code requirements.
  • Organize cooking and cleaning schedules to serve meals at specified times and to ensure orderly workflow.
  • Utilize a variety of kitchen equipment, and diet lists to determine type and amount of food to prepare.
  • Confer with the Food and Nutrition Manager regarding any menu changes and/or for substitutions of food items on the menu.
  • Record the daily documentation.
  • Maintain the general cleanup of the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Confer with the Food and Nutrition Manager regarding any changes and/or improvements in the operation/work of the department.
  • Complete all required trainings within the appropriate timeframe.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One year healthcare food service experience preferred
