Scheduling Coordinator
Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a weekly department schedule that assigns staff to client shifts that will maximize the clients budgeted hours, staff retention and profitability. The coordinator complete schedules in a timely manner, making adjustments as needed in real time, and communicating with staff effectively.  We are looking for a full-time and part-time person. The hours will be Monday-Friday with call every other weekend.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate schedules.
  • Utilize electronic scheduling software.
  • Assign staff to available shifts based upon staff’s availability/client need.
  • Alter schedules to reassign staff to mandated shifts as needed and notify staff of the changes.
  • Serve as point of contact for staff to schedule, change, and/or cancel shifts.
  • Serve as point of contact for staff for call-offs during scheduled work hours. 
  • Forecast census for staffing. 
  • Compile and analyze monthly data related to client hours, staff hours, overtime, and contract utilization.
  • Evaluate scheduling alternatives to support Service Authorization changes and maximize profitability.
  • Be available as scheduled, or as needed, to receive emergency communication during non-traditional work times. Required to carry on-call phone two weekends a month. 
  • Complete clerical duties, which include but not limited to; Assist with maintaining the staff availability binder and making necessary monthly changes to the transportation schedule as it relates to shift changes.
  • Schedule necessary training for the Direct Support Professionals.
  • Serve as Direct Support Professional as needed during traditional and non-traditional work times while on call, when call offs cannot be covered.
  • Schedule Medication Passes when working staff cannot do so.
  • Schedule new hires’ shadow shifts.
  • Maintain positive relationships with staff to ensure staff retention.
  • Remain compliant with all required training and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years’ experience in related field
  • Experience with the intellectually/developmentally disabled population preferred 


Salary Description
$20.00/hour
