 ClimeCo is seeking a full-time junior inventory accountant, on our Finance team. This position will be remote with a preference for Tampa, Florida. 


Position Description 


The Junior Inventory Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of ClimeCo's environmental commodities inventory. You'll work closely with our Finance and Operations teams to track, reconcile, and report on carbon credit and environmental attribute positions — ensuring our books reflect the real-world movement of assets that drive client outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and reconcile inventory records for environmental commodities (carbon credits, RECs, and related instruments) across multiple registries and platforms
  • Process inventory transactions including acquisitions, retirements, and transfers with accuracy and timeliness
  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities, including inventory subledger reconciliation to the general ledger
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to inventory
  • Identify and flag discrepancies, working cross-functionally with Operations and commercial teams to resolve
  • Assist in developing and improving inventory tracking procedures and controls
  • Generate inventory reports and summaries for Finance leadership as needed
Requirements

Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of accounting or finance experience; internship experience welcomed
  • Foundational understanding of GAAP accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or accounting systems a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in sustainability, carbon markets, or environmental finance

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to environmental commodities, carbon registries (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard, APX), or financial services
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms
  • CPA candidate or intention to pursue CPA licensure
Salary Description
$52,000.00 to $60,000.00
